The Iowa conditions is still too warm to beginning wearing scarves again, but I'm dreaming of crisp fall air, cozy sweaters and a scarf effectually my neck. Oh, and pumpkin pie! When we moved out of our apartment and into our first abode last winter, I lost one of my favorite organizing solutions. The hanging scarf organizer I had created in our flat bedroom was so useful, and–might I add–so pretty to look at.

I love our new dwelling house, merely our bedroom is much smaller than the one in our flat and I didn't really have the actress wall space to hang my scarves up in the verbal same fashion I had washed previously. So, after months of staring at the heap of scarves on the floor of our cupboard, I finally had enough and prepare out to create an organized area for my scarves in our new habitation.

Since I didn't have a lot of wall space to work with, my thoughts turned to our closet doors. Our flat closet had those squeeze box style doors, but our house just has two regular doors. I decided to use the inside of one door for my scarf organizer.

My initial idea was to hang my scarves from drapery rods just similar I did in our apartment. After all, that scarf organizing tutorial is still to this day one of the top traffic-generating posts on my blog, a twelvemonth and a half later on, and information technology was then simple to create. Since my closet doors are narrower than the wall space I used last time around, I needed shorter curtain rods. The shortest rods I could observe in boondocks were still a tad bit besides wide to fit my closet door, so I got creative and came up with an alternate solution.

I found this towel bar (similar ane hither), which was the perfect width for my cupboard door:

I bought ii towel bars to make two rows of scarves, and they worked out perfectly! They were the correct width for my doors, and they come up with all the hardware you need to mount them to the wall. Information technology was a super simple project to screw the ii towel bars into my closet door.

One notation: my closet doors are the cheap hollow kind, and so I probably should have used some sort of wall anchors to better agree my screws in place–whoops! Notice that little command strip sticking out on the left side of the bottom towel bar? That's because my screws got wonky and the bar didn't attach quite right. I figured this wouldn't be holding much weight, and so I opted for a quick Command strip fix rather than rounding upward actress screws to redo the whole thing. This is meant to be a quick and easy project, after all. And, what tin I say, I love Command strips.

Once the towel confined were in place, I but hung my scarves from it using cheap plastic shower curtain rings. How nifty is that!? And it's difficult to beat a project that but costs $25 and takes less than thirty minutes to complete!
